RECENT:

The FAME Monologue.
An OffPiste collaboration with Theatre Royal Plymouth.

We are delighted to be collaborating with Theatre Royal Plymouth as part of their Artist Development outreach for their Summer production of FAME: The Musical.

A Devon or Cornwall based writer will be commissioned to write a monologue titled:
‘I Sing the Body Electric’ that will encapsulate the themes of the show which may include aspiration, determination, identity, coming-of-age and of course the power of art and performance.

… and we are directing and producing the filmed monologue.

OffPiste Theatre presents RANK – based on a true story by Frome-based writer and actor, Dan Gaisford.

A taxi driver’s life is turned upside down by an epic encounter with a young woman and her two small children who use his services to travel cross-country to buy a horse. As the odyssey unfolds and the woman’s situation becomes known, the taxi driver must decide whether to get the job done or act like a decent human being. But as he battles to tell his tale against the backdrop of an ever-ringing phone, it is apparent he has become far more involved in the lives of his passengers than he ever intended.

RANK explores working class men, what we do when everything starts to go wrong and if we can truly trust the people around us. More info here.

BRICK BY BRICK | A short film commissioned to advocate for the town of Bridgwater. Produced by Somerset Film.

Our directors, Archie and Elliot, were brought on board this fantastic production by Somerset Film.

“When two aspiring TikTok influencers try to launch their careers by mocking their hometown with a viral video steeped in stereotypes, a whole community challenges them to look deeper. Together, they uncover the real Bridgwater, its vibrant community, surprising beauty, and heart, and find new purpose.”

Written by Helen Tompson, directed by Archie Rowell, Elliot Millson as Director of Photography and over 137 local people were involved in the making of Brick by Brick.

Commissioned by Bridgwater Town Deal Board, this short film was created with the people who live and work in Bridgwater. More Info here.

Archie Rowell set out to run the 96 Mile Jurassic Coast in one go in aid of Campaign Against Living Miserably.

We made a documentary about it.

96 MILES for the 75%

75% of suicides are men, this was a run for the boys.

Battling hail storms, hell, and hallucinations, this documentary follows Archie, his reasons behind doing this feat of endurance, the people he met along the way and the incredible work that CALM do.

You can now watch the documentary online.

FOUND IN LOST PLACES
A dance film exploring how we face grief during a turning point of life.

A widow navigates her grief through movement as silent encounters with her past lover and their shared memories play out before her. This experimental, abstract short film explores how physical movement helps the body process loss and heal.

Produced by Parker Rose Productions, with Archie and Elliot leading the creation of the film.
